this day has not gone according to plan.
1. Fix again the plumbing in the master bath. That got done but it did take THREE trips to the hardware store. When fixtures get OLD, spare parts are hard to come by.
2. Work over some cgi scripts that deal with email from a website. This did not happen. It was overcome by a call from E Street Cafe because the internal network was DOWN. This turned out to be a simple problem. No default gateway in the routing table. Manually added one and all is working fine. But to figure out where the default route went has been a bit of a challenge. I just don't know BSD well enough to navigate quickly. In any event, I think the default was not being set up because the file /etc/mygate was improperly terminated.
3. Picking folks up from airport. For some reason I thought it was this evening.; Nope. This afternoon. That wiped out the rest of my experimenting time today. There will be no time later this evening, though. When Stacey called to give me the arrival time, I learned that we are going out to dinner tonight. (which reminds me, I haven't eaten anything today either.)
The best part of this day will be the return of Stacey. She has been 36 hours and if feels like two weeks. sigh.
