The Evil Party lost BIG TIME. YAY!
The Stupid Party won. I am hoping the Dems can do something smart for a change. I shan't hold my breath. Still I like the list of rights to trample better then the Evil Party's list.
Prop 4 failed. Parental Notification comes up in election after election and it loses in every one. This makes me happy. I wish, though, the "My morals must be your morals" crowd would go pester some one else. Let's give them a chunk of the South to call their own.
Prop 8 is going to pass. I am sad, but the ensuing legal challenges should be interesting. Same sex marriage will happen in this country, but it will take a few more two by fours between the eyes of bigots hiding behind their religion.
I can not stress strongly enough just how much I dislike the initiative system. Really hate it. Really. We have a representative form of government to help protect against the tyranny of the majority. And the initiative process lets the majority -- no matter how slim the victory -- push unconstitutional crap down the throats of freedom loving peoples everywhere.
