Around the House.
Stacey isn't very happy with the medallion in the front porch. The issue? Well the circle in the concrete is a little too large and not perfectly round. This would have been much less of a problem if we hadn't gone for very dark grout. It is what it is. We are not breaking out that block of concrete and buying another medallion to try again.
We were going to reuse as much PVC drain pipe in back as we could. That turned out to be practically none. Roots had gotten into the drain from more than one spot and had grown to fill the length (60 and more feet) and fill the width. We simply couldn't get the root mass out of the pipes without damaging them beyond further use.
The new drains are now in place and the deck area is being graded and made ready for forms. I expect the forms work to start today. We might have a concrete pour on Thursday.
It really fits in with "oh well" that the wind picked up before I could get the fence painted. Now it looks like the concrete might happen first. This is not how I wanted it to go! I'm hoping for a calm day tomorrow.
Around the Office.
Work projects are coming along. Slowly. Too slowly to keep me happy. I think, though, Greg and I made great progress yesterday. We created the security framework to protect sensitive data like credit card numbers. I think we are close to a test system. I am very happy about that. I must figure out how to "format" the raw credit report data into a form suitable to fax. Mostly, though, we aren't going to fax, so that is a happy making feeling!
Around the neighborhood.
We have a "Yes on 8" sign in our neighborhood. I figured we would be evenly split between Dems and GOP, but..... Oh, well. He is a "good catholic boy." Have I mentioned lately how much I dislike organized religions. They are just another "special interest group" trying to force their sense of right and wrong on the entire world.
Enough for now.
