I'm not talking a book in the torah/bible.
I'm not talking a racket in NYC.
I'm not talking a Cat Stevens album.

Nope. I'm talking digits. The abstraction used for counting and accounting. The squiggles we use to determine who has how much of what.

And now I have to write a program that includes accounting for product sold, billing and payments made. And all in a way that can be easily understood and manipulated through a series of screens on a computer. The rough outline of the screens has been thoughtfully provided. I looked through them on Friday. They are good.

But how to handle the underlying accounting? That is the rub.

To the end user, it will look something like their telephone bill. A list of services, a price for each, the total for current activity and the amount past due if any.

I just can't wrap my head around it.

I don't like numbers very much. :)
