The concrete job is progressing. Every time I start a project like this, I am reminded (and thankful!) for my father's advice: Measure twice and cut once. For me, though, it is measure twice, draw a diagram, add all the numbers up, throw away the diagram and draw another, measure again, add the numbers up, think about it a bit, then cut the lumber.
All the form pieces for the walkway now fit together and the hole is nearly a uniform depth. Some time this week I'll put those forms in place and be ready for the pour.
The added project of the slap for the trash cans has to come together about the same time. This is going to be a bit tricky. So tricky, in fact, that I think I'll pour a concrete wall rather than the block I was going to use. We will see as I near the end of digging for that.
And, as always is the case, home maintenance items crop up to disrupt the flow of improvement projects. In this case the three circuit breakers that deal with the pool all crapped out on Friday. A trip to home depot followed just to discover the kind of breakers for this house is no longer the standard. Tomorrow I must visit some specially stores on Convoy Court. I shall be keeping my fingers crosses!
