BBC News, "Pope Benedict XVI has warned of the dangers of secularism and of "do it yourself" religion, as his visit to his native Germany draws to a close."

Perfectly understandable. The Pope would much rather everyone subscribe to his do-it-for-you religion.

He does make on point, though, even if it isn't the point he wanted to make. People have a much harder time sticking to a "do it yourself" religious path. If one is a member of some organized group, a crisis of faith can be withstood more easily because there are people to talk to about it.

A personal path requires a lot more self generation. It's a harder path.

For me, though, it has been a much more enriching and fulfilling path.

Let's not forget LOVE. That's a workable path, too. :)
