Stacey and I went to Santa Barbara to see Alex's new apartment and to retrieve Stacey's SUV. Two cars again. It's a good thing. I suppose I could have had the Geo all this time, too, but it didn't seem worth it. I also need to talk to Eric about the Geo. I have no details, but it seems a scary moment was had when a rear tire blew.
Stacey and I shared great swordfish in a restaurant with lousy service. I seldom under tip, but this was just lousy. I looked for ways to excuse the service, but really didn't find any. Santa Barbara is just a problem, I think.
Saturday morning, we drove over to Saugus and visited my Heather and Dave. I think they might make a November wedding happen. It will be a small, family wedding without all the usual and expensive trappings. The problem they have been having is where to hold the "reception" party. It's just really a party. They have a great band lined up and are are trying to fit into their touring schedule.
Dave had a brilliant idea and all might resolved. The band plays one venue often and that venue has a "private" upstairs area that can be reserved for parties. It also takes care of overflow issues. I hope they go for that. Not because I want them to be married -- 'cause I just don't care if they marry or not -- but because Heather doesn't wants to be married before she has babies. She really wants them.
Home now. I dropped Stacey off at the train station to get the other car and to wait for Kate. They should be here soon. Lots of work to do today to get ready for painters tomorrow. IF they are coming tomorrow. We didn't get a confirming phone call. Fingers are crossed though. If the painters blew it, it is going to throw a wrench in our schedule for the next three weeks.
I have been happy in my life. I can even point to several periods of time where I was very happy. I have never been this happy. Unreservedly happy. Unfailingly happy. Rest of my life happy.
Love is.
