from PDI's poll:
"Far better than you should, I suspect. I hope you don't have some idealized image of me. I do my best to discourage that by screwing up a lot."
I think you are great -- flaws and all. From what you write in your journal, I know some of the great things about you. I know that how you are being a mother is creating a great child -- credit to you. I know that you are an extremely talented wordsmith. I know that despite some serious history, you are making your world a great place to live in. I know that you are more tolerant and accepting than you think you are.
When I was in the Navy, we had a saying, "One 'Oh Shit' wipes out a ten 'atta-boys'." That saying is completely STUPID.
I don't see you how you "are," I see you how you affect the world around you.
For someone who battles depression and physical challenges, you live --in live journal, at least -- as if life is fresh, ripe, juicy watermelons. Your daughter is proof that it isn't just live journal.
Cut yourself some slack! As a friend of mine says:
"You are who you think you are. But you aren't really who you think you are, you are much more magnificent than that!"
Love,
Lynn
