About books and reading/writing preferences.
Hardback or Paperback? Paperback. I tend to read mostly in bed. Hardback is a little too unwieldy.
Highlight or Underline? In my reference books, I will sometimes highlight. Underlining either disappears or distracts.
Lewis or Tolkien Lewis by five lengths.
E.B. White or A.A. Milne? Milne.
T.S. Eliot or e.e. cummings? Eliot, but I don't spend much time there.
Stephen King or Dean Koontz? Koontz, but I don't read Koontz much either.
Barnes & Noble or Borders? Bookstar. Although there is a B & N downtown with a coffee bar. That helps.
Waldenbooks or B. Dalton? B. Dalton to kill a little time. I buy nothing from either.
Fantasy or Science Fiction? SF. The harder the better, though I do like a some of the SF that includes fantasy. I'm rereading Job: A Comedy of Justice. There is nothing "Science" about it. :)
Horror or Suspense? Suspense. I'd take a poke in the eye over horror.
Bookmark or Dogear? Bookmark. I learned really early that dogears shorten the life of a book and that it's not easy to find my place after the second or third reading.
Hemingway or Faulkner? Hemingway.
Fitzgerald or Steinbeck? Steinbeck.
John Irving or John Updike? Updike.

John Grisham or Scott Turow? Grisham.
J.K. Rowling or Lemony Snicket? Rowling.

A Few Pages per Sitting or Finish at Least a Chapter? 'Til I fall asleep.
Short Story or Creative Non-fiction Essay? Essay. There just aren't enough short stories that are good enough to get my attention. I've read my friends Analog magazines several times in the last couple of years. I wasn't impressed.
