When I was a kid, I loved to do somersaults. Every few years, I do one just to prove that I can.

When I was a kid, I never worried that I would hurt myself doing one. As I grow older, I find that I am increasingly nervous about doing them. It's not a specific kind of worry, just the generic "This isn't going to go well" kind.

I don't give in to that concern very often. It seems to me that giving in to it is what makes folks get old as they age. :)

Anyway, I'm going to turn a somersault today. Probably on the front lawn this afternoon when I get back. :)

Love.

it actually makes perfect sense to become more careful about this as one ages -- unless one keeps physically flexible and fit, the body can't do those things as well anymore as in childhood, and it's much easier to hurt oneself.

Anyone who does the TimeWarp in Costco should have no problem with a somersault in his own front yard!! :) Love

I have the same thing with cycling. I used to tear down enormous hills pedalling like crazy. Now I'm pulling at the brakes most of the time.

Anyway, enjoy your somersault :-)
