Normally when I think of GUIs for Linux, I think of gnome and KDE. I was a gnome fan for quite awhile and I more or less still like that system. I know I like the ximian addons like Evolution.

However, I like the look and feel of KDE better even though the suite of applications that come with it are a bit young yet.

However, they are both bloated.

When I installed a minimal set on my desktop for testing purposes, I was reminded of the other window managers available. Some are quite nice to use and a LOT smaller.

It is possible that I'll switch to one of them for my laptop.

Speaking of my laptop. I've never been able to get sound running on my laptop with linux. Even using opensound. Other's have on the same machine. I might try putting Suse 9.1 on to see if it can figure out the sound. It worked with Amy's machine.

I've also given grub a try on the desktop. I've been meaning to check it out.

Now, after three VBCofC*, I have to pee.
