Ifyou turn off the init script "coldplug" on a machine that uses a USB keyboard and mouse, SuSE 9.1 will not know they are there when it boots up.

Did I think to unplug them and plug them back in? No. I rebooted to a rescue disk and reset the script. That was the long way!
