I was very, very careful with the last install of SuSE 9.1 plus online update. Very careful.
And I tested at each pass.
And it failed when I upgraded the kernel.
I know more, though. The rpm for the kernel puts the new files where they belong and runs lilo. And that is where it goes south.
When I boot after that, it starts up looks around, gets the kernel, loads it and then looks for the root partitian. And fails. Utterly fails to find it.
So, install #4. This time, though, I might do a minimum install so it will be faster, then test, test, test, until I figure out what is going wrong.
Love.
