The sound on my Desktop is still not quit right. I can get it right, but rebooting puts me right back to slightly off. It's easy enough to get right so finding out what's up is not high on my list.
lizetta's computer, on the other hand, is high on the list. An online update killed the OSS sound driver. I'll just upgrade the entire thing to 9.1 and the 2.6.x kernel. This time, however, I will put the kernel sources on it so these driver updates have some chance of working right off the bat.
At CostCo today, I saw a laptop I wouldn't mind having. One of those fancy wide-screen jobs. Looking at all that comes with it, I thought it would be really neat. Then I looked more closely. Half the features wouldn't work until Linux. :( And I refuse to be tied to Microsoft.
Neither of my computers has a Microsoft operating system and I feel GOOD!
