I have always thought that said it all, but I am convinced it is only part of the story for relating to people (of any number).

Let's add a few other things:

Frankness, frankness, frankness.
Coachability, coachability, coachability.
Reconciliation, reconciliation, reconciliation.
Feel, feel, feel.
Love, love, love.

What triplet would you add?

My poly mantra has always been:
"Talk lots. Go slow. Make sure everyone is comfortable."

As an alternate I use:
"Never have more lovers than you have free days in the week."

And also:
"Talk lots. Talk more. Talk even more than that."

I have a 'different' definition of trust than most people.

Trust: The state in which a person believes he or she can predict how someone will react under most circumstance AND that their reactions will not cause pain.

My definition is based partly on how I see people use the word when they talk aobut who they trust and, more to the point, who they don't trust.

I try to keep my personal trust widnow open very wide indeed. I can 'get away with that' because it is very diffucult to emotionally hurt me.

we often want poly very badly and push ourselves into it faster that the hind brain part is comfortable with. So allowing all partys to be calm and comfortable and relaxed is a priority
