1. Do people get the government they deserve? Or is it just that people get the worst government they are willing to tolerate?
2. Does creating artificial equality always mean lowest common denominator? Is "no child left behind" really "all children left behind"?
3. Why are we still pretending that Fox News is news?
4. A lack of education means the person in uneducated. Stupid is remaining ignorant, intentionally or not, of facts and theories in those areas that a person considers important to them.
5. Why is THC a schedule 1 drug and nicotine is not? How is it that we regulate alcohol state by state while the federal government insists that other drugs may NOT be regulated by each state? See item 4.
6. Why is it that the moralists always (or nearly always) win (in the short term) about those behaviors which have no victims? Blue laws come and go (usually thrown out by the US Supreme Court) and come again. How is it that we become babbling, ineffectual morons in the face "you are doing something bad and wrong" All praise the legal triumphs of Larry Flynt! For all his shortcomings, he was not a coward when facing the moralists.
7. Computers are tools. They are not a replacement for brains. They are definitely not a replacement for training young minds to think. See item 2.
8. Why are the best approaches to anything crushed into dust and replaced by mediocre approaches?
9. If one cannot patent anything that is purely mathematical or a business practice or obvious, why are there ANY software patents? Why are the works of dead authors still protected by copyright? See items 1, 4, 6, and 8.
