For my Liberal Friends

Here is a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle who writes, no surprise, from the leftmost edge of politics. Mark Morford.

It is not that I agree with every conclusion, but I love reading his columns for the wonderfully crafted prose. This is not a columnist who aims at the sixth-grade reading level that newspapers usually intend. Once in a while I have to look up some adjective he uses. I like that.

disgusted

The oh-so-pious Christians (Evangelical, Catholic, and Mormon) who are throwing millions of dollars at Prop 8 (constutional ban on same-sex marriage) have managed to move public opinion by LYING through their virtue.

I am disgusted that they have an ends-justify-the-means mentality (the church I was raised in also had that point of view); and, I am disgusted that so many people are buying it.

How fucking stupid can people get?

Swell. Leak.

The new gas line has a slow, slow leak. In the course of 5 hours it has lost five pounds of air pressure. This is NOT good as quite a lot of the gas line is now under concrete.

I am hoping it is the compression fitting for the BBQ riser. It has to be moved anyway and does not mean breaking out brand new concrete.
