There was an extended news item on one of the public radio shows yesterday which was focused on a convention of progressives, H. Clinton's appearance at the convention, and her lukewarm reception.

I used to think we were more bonobo than chimp. I'm no coming to terms with the disheartening realization that we are baboons. In fact, we are the meanest and nastiest tribe of baboons on the planet.

In a few minutes I'm going to call the dentist's office. I have to work up to it.

I do not make wise decisions when it comes to dentistry. I wait until the pain is nearly unbearable then tolerate the dentist's addition of new and different pain as well as I can. Then for about a week or so, I'm pain free.

Right now, I'm taking a lot of pills everyday to keep the pain manageable. I can't put it off any longer, though. I am having a lot of trouble eating.

A very, very expensive trip to the dentist is in my future. Oy.

Dental appointment for tomorrow morning.

Although no dentist has done this since I was 16, I suffer with the fear that I'm going to lectured and shamed by the dentist. What is really funny is, I'm paying the dentist for services, not for lecturing.

Sigh. I've never missed a dental appointment. It just takes a long, long time for me to request an appointment.

I'm not an ideal dental patient. :)

For some unknown span of time, I'm not going to the La Paloma on Friday nights.

I'm still doing stuff for cast (webmaster, programs, slave labor parties, etc.) but I'm not going to be at the theater unless Amy needs a Riff or Dr. Scott.

I love the movie and I love the in-your-face attitude of our live performances.

The preshow rules leaves us with the directive to "have fun." I have been breaking that rule regularly for the last few months. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

There are many "fun killers" for me, but I don't intend to share their nature with anyone but Amy. I have no illusions that my reasons would make any difference to anyone else.

Love.
