The Blackberry service might be shut down by the end of this month if Blackberry loses an appeal about patent infringement. Blackberry says it has a software solution ready to go to keep it's service alive. All well and good, right. I mean more than 3 million Americans are using the service.
According to a BBC Story, the US government is attempting to keep Blackberry in operation in the face of illegal use of NTP's technology. Here is the last paragraph of the story.
"Earlier this month the US government asked a federal judge to hold off from a possible shutdown of the Blackberry service because of the system's popularity among key government employees."
