The office is the only room in the house that I can't stay in for longish periods of time. Like more than an hour at a time. I've been struggling with the mystery of what could be in there that is causing the problem.
It is likely that the cleaning crew that comes twice a month is not cleaning the office at all -- except to empty the trash. We told them to ignore it the first time they came after the carpet was installed and I think they have ignored it ever sense.
I think it's "new carpet" gasses. I was just doing a bit of mending in the kitchen using some pvc glue and realized that the itchy, watery eyes and clogging sinuses felt exactly the same as it feels when I'm in the office. I bet some of the same family of chemicals is leeching from the carpet in this room but has been dealt with in the rest of the house.
I'll know in 45 days. I'll have the cleaning crew really go to town on the carpet in the office. I'll take up the office mats before they get here and put them back after.
Rocky tonight. I'm Riff. I like playing Riff. A lot. MI tomorrow night. It is their 18 birthday.
I envy the casts who have had the same theater for ever and have a solid history of their cast. In one form or another, there has been a rocky cast in San Diego since 1978. There are no records to prove the lineage, though. We simply don't know if we are directly descended from that original cast. We do know that Rocky in San Diego has been in several theaters and there were probably some dead times in between theaters. Still, that is a long time for Rocky to be alive in any given place. I'm a tiny bit proud to be associated with something that has this kind of life. It's a good time for my cast, too. Any by "good," I mean a time when our show is entertaining and we have a general cast attitude of doing the job well. That's when play is the most fun for me! You know, when folks are putting forth a strong effort toward a common goal. It's fun when there are obvious results. :)
Half the programs are printed -- that would be the front half. I'm waiting (a little while longer) to see who is playing three roles that were, last I looked, not cast yet. I expect Amy and Amy B will be picking up two of the three, but then, who will be Rocky Horror?
Love.
