For years and years, I kidded with people I knew about what we we're all going to be when we grew up. Even after I grew up. When I was in Mensa, it was a common theme conversation late at night in the Hospitality Suite at our conventions. For awhile, it was a common greeting!
I just realized what my underlying conversation was. I suspect I wasn't the only one really wondering what was worth giving my life to. What principle was compelling enough to hold my attention for more than a few hours.
No wonder it I stayed in a pit of resignation for so long.
Glad those days are done.
