I've mentioned Landmark Education and Human Awareness Institute and described a bit about what each does. There is, however, another organization on which I sit as an officer of the board. It is a California-wide citizen lobby and political education non-profit named Lambda Letters Project.

We track bills in the Californian legislature that have direct bearing on people in these four groups:
1. people with or affected by HIV/AIDS
2. lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex persons
3. women
4. people of color.

Each month we mail our members a newsletter with current information on the bills we are following and one sample letter in each of the four subject areas. Our members sign the letters and return them to us for delivery to their legislator. We also have an email alert system.

I mention all this because if you are a Californian and are interested in your human and civil rights or the rights of someone you know fits into one or more of the groups we serve, you might consider joining the project, volunteering with the project and contributing to the project.

Love,
Lynn
