One of the things I like about UNIX,Linux, et. al. is that I can play with programming. I can, as an unprivileged user, write or get source code, compile and run it. Any code that does not need access to privileged resources will work and will not alter the system.

Now RedHat has released Fedora 12. What new features? An unprivileged user can install system wide software from a signed rpm package.

An unprivileged user can alter the system. This is VERY BAD NEWS.
