Well, hell. Stacey wanted to keep watching Orange is the New Black. While I still think it isn't great TV, it is passable TV. We have only the last show of Season 1 to go. There are a few characters who I like. Mostly, though, I either don't care (not what the writers want) or I don't like the characters. And mostly, I don't dislike the character for the reasons the writers want me to dislike them.

I do like the back story bits on the characters. How did they end up in prison? Well, we find out in history interludes when some character has a featured role for that episode. I like this style of story telling.

I mostly dislike the lead character, Piper, because she is a boring, two dimensional stereotype. As the season progressed, she grew in stereotypical ways. Really boring. Her boyfriend is a useless turd. If I were to meet him in real life, I would avoid having to deal with him. Piper's gf is slightly more interesting than Piper.

The real surprise is Kate Mulgrew who plays Red. She is the Russian inmate cook. When she played Captain Janeway on Star Trek Voyager, I thought her acting skills weren't at all good. (most of the characters on that show were awful as was the show) However, in Orange, she shines. Her character is rock solid.

Really, I'm only watching it now for Red.

It will over over tonight. Done. I want a second season of House of Cards, but I'm hoping for no second season of Orange. I'm ready for something different and more entertaining.
