I listen to NPR in the morning before I get up. It is a practice I may soon stop for I do not wish to start my day annoyed.
In an ongoing effort to seem fair to all positions, NPR qualifies nearly every statement they make with "most people" or "many people." For instance, this morning, in a story about Donald Trump racing around the television landscape expressing his deranged views on the President, the NPR journalist said about the President's birth certificate, "... that most people accept as real."
The State of Hawaii said that it is real. That makes it real. It IS real. Acceptance is not required.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics would be reported as "Little controversy surrounds this assumption."
It seems that the only media that will stake out a position and own it are those who want their opinions accepted as facts, will the so-called impartial media will not state anything as fact (unless they get it in a press release).
Wait, I know. The average human being just isn't smart enough to tell the difference between fact and fantasy. Between what is so and delusion. Oh, well.
