I know the parents are busy and tired, but how long does it take to put baby pictures on the web?

I think I'll give them a Ryan page on my server. :)

At work, we have dBase III files on several machines that we are euphemistically calling servers. A whole bunch of computers access this data through Clipper applications.

It is all build around DOS which means tricky stuff needed to happen to make everything place together.  One of the tricks was to allow different configuration files to exist down the path so that the same application would behave differently from different machines.  For instance, from machine A, printing a report of accounts receivable would send a report to a wide format dot matrix printer while the same command issued from machine B would cause the same report to be printed to a file fit editing in WordPerfect through the clever use of macros to create the invoice.

None of that is necessary with newer technology, but we are still in the stone age.

We have been upgrading computers around here. One side effect is that sometimes commands are being issued under the wrong configuration.  "The result?" you might ask.

The result is FUBAR.

In about a month, the massive effort to upgrade the whole damn system is starting.  I might not get any sleep at all for several months. :)
