Vons produces a series of soups that they sell ready hot and ready to eat. They also sell them packaged to bring home. They are all higher in fat than I like, but two are very good. Today for lunch, Stacey and I had the creamy tomato. I forget what Vons calls it. We had a nice spicy olive loaf bread with that. It came from Trader Joes.

This is the third or fourth time I've had a creamy of something soup lately that I really like. I think it is time to break out the cookbooks and learn to make these soups. It isn't difficult and I usually like my own cooking best.

In the mean time, I've lost 10 pounds without trying very hard. I'm being very careful to only eat when I'm hungry. I'm working on eating slower, but eating fast is a life-long habit. To compensate for eating fast, I'm deliberately stopping before I feel full. If I am still hungry 30 minutes after I finish a meal, I give myself a little desert treat. This is working nicely and it is always how I have dragged my weight back down to 200 pounds.

My last physical was not good news as far as my cardiovascular system is concerned and I just don't move around much when I weight 240! (I think I'm going in the pool this afternoon, though.

Love.

Yep. It's another long standing event in Southern California that I hadn't heard of before. Not surprising since I don't look for "events" to get my something-to-do ideas. This could have been spread all over pages of the Union Tribune and I'd never see it.

The event is The Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach, California. This year it runs from June 30 to September 3.

Stacey has gone nearly every year for more than 20 years. She raves about it. We will be going up soon. I just don't know how soon. Maybe we'll make a two-day trip and go to Disneyland, too.

Love.

I sometimes email questions to manufactures rather than call. I am not usually in a hurry to get the information and I don't like spending 30 minutes on hold.

So I sent an email to Wagner to ask about the directions for use of the Wagner paint sprayer I just bought. The directions talked about thinning various paints and other materials, but it didn't mention water-based latex which is the paint I use most often.

The terse reply: The Wagner Control Spray does not spray latex.

Now that is a simple sentence that could have been on the outside of the box. I wouldn't have bought the damn thing. Sigh. Now to go stand in a line to return it and buy a different sprayer.

My new phone has a bluetooth headset. When I was on the phone talking with Stacey, she said I sounded like there was a lot of noise in the background. At that point I realized I had wandered a room away from my phone. It did quit good hanging in there.

I like the headset. I have no idea how long it will last on one battery charge. But I do like the wirelessness of the headset!
