My neighbor has spent a lot of money putting in a pool, barbecue, and patio. A lot. The amount is amazing. And it is nothing I would have spent that kind of money to do.
He also tore down a storage shed that was a bit weatherbeaten. And replaced it with a slightly larger one. It cost $1200!
Today I was at Lowe's and thought I would look at their storage units. They had a many. The lowest priced one was $800. The most expensive was about 8x8x10 feet, made of wood and it cost more than $2000.
Holy crap. There was many $250 worth of wood. Maybe.
I'll be building my own (to cover the pool equipment).
