Okay, the desktop machine is now working. I can boot to SuSE 10.0 from two different partitions. However, most of my third-party source-installed stuff is broken. here's the issue: The dynamic libraries changed and the src packages are looking for a particular version of the libraries.
It has been my experience, though, that the newer libraries will work just fine. Why the third party stuff is looking for lib.x.x or NEWER is beyond me.
Anyway, I have a few links to make.
Now is a trip to the hardware store. Some regular stuff and some plumbing. The neat above the counter sink in the guest bath has a broken drain. Someone put too much weight on the bowl.
