I wanted to make sure I was spelling Esperanza correctly so I googled my first choice spelling which was Esperansa. That turns out to be a Netherlands BDSM site with some free pictures and some movie clips (which I couldn't view, but anyone on a Microsoft box can).

Oh my.

can be great.

There is a web host that one of my clients uses that has very nice automation tools. Almost everything can get set up by a non-geek (with just a little extra study and maybe a tiny bit of guidance).

But.

Even though it seems like all the changes, set ups and configurations are complete. Nothing seems to work. At least nothing works right away. With no explanation. And that is the kicker.

Today, I set up a mailing list. It's just Mailman. All should be just fine. I can't register as a user. It thinks it is registering me. But I never get the confirm email and I'm not in the membership listing.

This is also true of mysql. I've added myself as a database user, but I can't log in. I'm pretty sure the grants need to be updated on mysql. I'll go try that in a bit (it failed, I don't have sufficient permissions). But I think the other problem is awaiting some daily cron job that udpates everything.

Fine. It would be nice, though, if there was some explanation given the person doing the set ups.
