Yesterday the server moved to the E Street Cafe.
Three things had to happen. 1) The Spiffy OpenBSD firewall had to be hooked up and tested, 2) the DNS records for all the domains had to be changed and 3) hermes (the server) had to have configuration files changed to match the new IPs.
The firewall failed entirely to allow any packets through the bridge. For hours and hours it failed. When I last left our hero, the firewall was back out of the circuit. It will have to be worked on.
With only about 90 minutes left before I had to be at RHPS, I started up hermes to reconfigure it. An easy job. Except that damn machine failed to start up. It wouldn't even do it's own pretest. Greg went home and grabbed another machine. Hard drive swap and hermes was back on line. I was late to the show.
The only piece that seems to gone off without a hitch is the DNS change.
Damn.
