I remember why, all those years ago, that I stopped watching scary movies and reading scary books.

I am a very, very suggestible dreamer. Last night, as yet another side effect of using the CPAP machine, I had a serious nightmare. First one in probably 40 years. It included some monsters that came up in conversation yesterday, a plot line that came right from The Sixth Sense which I discussed yesterday, and a object with supernatural and daemonic powers which came from a [livejournal.com profile] pdi short story I read last week or so.

I woke up in a cold sweat.

I remember,, as a teen, trying to a create a climate of positive dreams by concentrating on good stuff when I went to bed. I also remember being so afraid of nightmares that I would have nightmares about nightmares.

And remember, I love you.

*pounds head on wall*

The coasters recorded a great song part of which went like this:

You can hide down in the alley.
Pull you hat down over your eyes.
You can wear a wig or mustache
or any ol' disguise.

You can change your name and your address,
Even change the style of your clothes,
But the shadow knows.
The shadow knows.

*pounds head on wall some more *

Maybe under that rock over there.

Damn.

Well, just remember, I love you. You don't have to acknowledge it. You don't even have to know about it. It is just what it is.
