This has been a very, very long day. It was only this morning -- 15 hours ago -- that I listened to my phone messages. Fifteen hours. A lot can happen in 15 hours.

Do you know why I bother to live? Love. Trite, isn't it. I give it away as much as possible. And still I am a little surprised when it comes back to me. I know it will, I have evidence. But, a little surprised.

I've driving to Santa Cruz tomorrow. Late Friday, I'm driving back.

I used to pull these distances off without a problem.

Today, though, I'm feeling a little old in the bones.
