A productive evening!

Created tcl packages of general procedures to handle PostgreSQL, MySQL and script debugging. All three packages use namespace features. This week, I will start the arduous task of debugging the packages. Once that is done, many of the scripts I have in the cue to write will be much easier to write.

I've had to learn a enough perl to troubleshoot and modify some existing scripts. One advantage perl has over tcl is the huge quantity of ready to go modules to do any thing one wants to do -- especially for dynamic web page creation. That being said, I still LOVE tcl and will continue to use it.

Got the backup server running again, more or less, but one of the raid disks is kaput. sigh. I don't like computers.

Now I'm going to practice my music. Whee. Then I'm going to bed.

I still get the shakes when I have to initiate an important phone call. Not every time, but it still happens. Like just now. And I can find a thousand reasons to put off making a call. I actually make the calls on time nearly all the time, but the cold sweat happens.

I have a lot of calls to make today -- I will spend all afternoon trying to reach people who are registered in my SELP. I'm excited about the SELP, but I am not excited about the calls. It will be okay once I start, but ....

I think I feel like I am a bit stupid over the phone. Or that the other person will think I'm a bit stupid. This time when I hung up (after leaving a message), my first thought was "I sounded like a blithering idiot."

It was too easy. Way to easy.

The NRMC oral surgeon's office just called.

Problem one: They can only accept a referral from a dentist -- not an MD. Navy dental clinics will not see me. I need to spend money on a dentist to get a referral to the surgeon.

Problem two: They will do the surgery, but they will not provide any appliances. I will have to arrange for that through the referring dentist. And the Navy dentists will not see me.

Problem three: All that takes MONEY or CREDIT. I have neither.

Possible plans:
1. US dentist to refer me, Mexico dentist to produce and fit denture. Possibly cheaper?
2. Check with VA hospital about dental. That would be a very long shot.
3. County medical. I think I make just a little too much for that.
4. Live with the pain.
5. Ask for some help.

Ah. Plan 5.

Help. I'm running out of ideas.

It is about 1 hour until the cast meeting. We are in a rented room. This is good for several reasons. One of the best reasons is that there is a time limit! Hmm. In half a day, I seem to have lost the receipt for the room. :( Damn.

Anyway, a meeting followed by Show Tunes. I am pleased that a meeting isn't the normal "fee" for attending show tunes.
