I didn't spend much time with the audience last night. I felt like working my ass off instead. So I watched the backstage area, handled the prop movements I signed up for (Clock and Weights) then hauled stuff up and down, helped players change clothes (some are fast changes) and generally ran around.
During slow tech parts, I did wander into the audience and for general security stuff (feet off chairs and the like), yell a few call backs and hug a few pretty girls and boys. Even flirted with Tom.
lizetta played Frank last night because Kim was sick. Trixie and Frank is a lot of work. I hope she managed to sleep on the plane this morning. Because I had signed up for weights (which includes playing the pummel horse), I got to have lizetta sitting on my back while taking swings on my butt. Nice perk. :)
The Rocky Horror Denny's Experience is always good for laughs and sometimes for well told stories (we have several good story tellers in our group). Sometimes it's good for flirting, hugging and massage (especially if I'm there). But sometimes, it's good just to observe one or two people. Last night was one of those. An audience member is trying very, very hard to impress cast and cast director. Embarrassingly persistent. Dug a very deep hole in the ground. Lizetta had to be rescued (she can normally rescue herself). Many one line zingers were aimed right at this lad and they all buzzed over or near his head. Not even the Rocky referenced ones landed. Pore fella. He wants to join cast. Unless he shows us something different, it isn't going to happen soon.
I ran out of steam and rested for a bit before the change for floor show. If I had been a little more practiced, I could have been in three places at once as the dresser. As it was, I did provide the critical pair of hands at the right moment three times. I'm happy about that.
Today I'll pay a couple of bills, drop them at the post office, get Lizetta's computer to upgrade (and get sound working again) then get more sleep. I'll also make at least two phone calls -- Susan and Tamara.
Tomorrow has been declared a booze-a-rama. Some web cartoonists and comic artists from LA will be down and a far number of cast members will show up to drink from our overflowing liquor cabinet. (Wedding surplus!)
I think Monday will be a declared day of rest.
